Despite Fandom for ‘Boyhood Hero’ David Beckham, Harry Kane Snubs His Netflix Doc for $300 Million Rich American Superstar’s 12YO Show

Sports documentaries have taken the world by storm. Among some popular ones is the latest release, ‘Beckham’, a documentary based on the legendary David Beckham. While ardent fans continue to binge-watch it, revered soccer star Harry Kane has snubbed Beckham’s docuseries by opting for a 12-year-old show led by a $300 million-rich American superstar, instead.

America’s Favorite Video Today

The soccer icon’s series faced a surprising rejection, even more so considering that Kane opted for it over a documentary from another sport. Despite referring to Beckham as his boyhood hero, the Bayern Munich star has chosen to align himself with a show led by a renowned American athlete.

Recently, Bayern Munich and England standout Harry Kane engaged in a tête-à-tête with ESPN’s Ralph Karumazondo. There, the striker took part in a compelling session of 20 questions. Interestingly, he was asked about his favorite sports documentary, to which he gave a very surprising answer.

He said, “The Brady 6 – just about his[Tom Brady’s] early career and the six quarterbacks that were picked before him in the draft. So, that was probably the biggest one, in terms of – it helped shaped maybe my mentality, my career in a way. You know, watching that gave me a lot more self-belief in myself.” Instead of opting for a documentary about soccer, Kane picked a series about another kind of football. The striker claims that Tom Brady’s “The Brady 6: Year of the Quarterback,” has helped him on a personal level.

However, he also took the name of Michael Jordan’s ‘The Last Dance’. While insisting that everyone adores Jordan, the Munich star said, “Seeing some of the old footage, some of his teammates talking to him, that was nice. As a proper documentary, that was the best.” As it appears, America’s two biggest athletes, Brady and Jordan, seem to have left an indelible mark on Kane.

Moreover, it was quite unique to hear Brady’s and Jordan’s documentary from Kane’s mouth. It certainly counts as a side-eye moment, as Kane had earlier revealed David Beckham as his boyhood hero and didn’t even mention his new docuseries.

In the very same segment, Kane was asked to reveal his boyhood hero. Interestingly, he took his country’s icon’s name. He said, “David Beckham. [I] Love David Beckham! We were from the same area. We went to the same school. Obviously, he was the England Captain when I was growing up. So, yeah – [I] used to love watch them play.”

Certainly, this would be music to Beckham’s ears. Additionally, Kane was also asked if he fancied any strikers. Simultaneously, he named the likes of Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney, and Ruud van Nistelrooy. Hearing such legendary names now justifies Kane’s goal-scoring ability.
