NCAA transfer portal 2024: Live updates, college football transfer tracker, news powered by 247Sports

Live updates and analysis as the transfer portal opens Dec. 4

The NCAA transfer portal cycle for the 2024 college football season has officially opened. The portal has fully cranked into gear with the FBS transfer window beginning Dec. 4 and ending Jan. 2, 2024. Though some players announced their intentions to transfer prior to Monday, they could not officially enter the portal until it opened.

Given that thousands of FBS players enter the portal each cycle and NIL has become a differentiating factor in player acquisition, expect to see plenty of movement this offseason in what has become one of the most important periods on the college football calendar.

In addition to the notable transfer players that will be listed below as the process continues over the next month, keep it locked here as CBS Sports and 247Sports cover the transfer portal window from top to bottom with a live tracker, updated rankings and much more. Former five-star QB leaves Georgia

Georgia quarterback Brock Vandagriff will enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining, according to On3. Vandagriff was an elite prospect, rated the No. 5 quarterback in the Class of 2021 Top247 rankings. He originally committed to Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma before flipping to Georgia to stay closer to his home in Bogart, Georgia.

Vandagriff competed for the starting quarterback job, but ultimately lost to upperclassman Carson Beck. In three seasons with the program, Vandagriff completed 12 of 21 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns. While staying close to home was a priority for Vandagriff coming out of high school, his primary recruiter was Dan Lanning, per 247Sports. Oregon could be in the market for a quarterback after Bo Nix leaves for the 2024 NFL Draft.
