The LSU Tigers are back in action as they hosted the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns on Sunday at PMAC. After being absent for two weeks, LSU’s kingpin Angel Reese made an impactful return in LSU’s win over Virginia Tech. The All-American forward impressed with 19 points and 9 rebounds in LSU’s 82-64 victory.

The Lady Tigers made a nervy start to the game as Louisiana drew first blood by opening the scoring Apparently, they trailed in the opening minutes of the first quarter by 4 points. However, freshman guard Mikayla Williams and center Aalyah Del Rosario wasted no time in getting LSU in front. Both of them scored 5 points apiece as the Tigers finished the first quarter in the lead at 13-8. The Ragin’ Cajuns showed some fight in the second quarter with forward Tamera Johnson and senior guard Brandi Williams providing Louisiana with a marginal lead of 3 points five minutes before half-time. Although, they didn’t manage to hold on to it as LSU leveled the match 28-28 halfway through the game.

The impactful No. 24 for LSU this season, Aneesah Morrow took matters into her own hand in the third quarter. She led the charge for them as LSU gained a 15 point lead within a few minutes. Morrow showed her class yet again as her prolific scoring put the Tigers in control. She kept them in the lead by the end of the third quarter. However, the Most Outstanding Player of last year’s NCAA tournament, Angel Reese roared in the penultimate quarter. The All-American forward was unstoppable as she reached double figures in no time.
