NFL Picks Week 15: Command Performance

The New Orleans Saints face the Washington Commanders in the Caesars Superdome this week. Despite a win a week ago, the Saints have taken some tough losses, especially at quarterback, with Derek Carr suffering another injury, forcing one of the young backups to take his place this week. Even with all of Carr inconsistencies, it will be a lot to ask one of these Saints backups to beat a playoff contender like Washington.
There will almost certainly be a command performance in the Superdome this Sunday, but it will almost certainly not come from the Saints. Hopefully, the Saints will keep the game entertaining, hopefully the young Saints quarterback will show promise and potential, hopefully Marshon Lattimore will not punish his former teammates, but that is a lot to hope for.
Let’s take a look at this and all of the upcoming action in Week 15.
Last week I went 10-3
I told you so: Jaguars over Titans!
What do I know: Browns over Steelers?

Thursday, December 12th – Thursday Night Football
Rams(7-6) at 49ers(6-7)
Matthew Stafford and the Rams passing attack will make the crucial plays needed to win this critical NFC West showdown. Los Angeles wins 28-27.

Sunday, December 15th – Early Games
Cowboys(5-8) at Panthers(3-10)
Bryce Young and the Panthers finally pick up another win against the terrible Dallas defense. Carolina wins 23-20.
Pick: Panthers
***
Chiefs(12-1) at Browns(3-10)
As usual this season, KC will sleepwalk their way through another victory, as they hibernate until January. Kansas City wins 28-23.
Pick: Chiefs
***
Dolphins(6-7) at Texans(8-5)
The Houston defense will be the best unit on the field in this sneakily important matchup. Houston wins 21-16.
Pick: Texans
***
Jets(3-10) at Jaguars(3-10)
Aaron Rodgers will outduel Mac Jones, as he should, in this yawn-inducing matchup. New York wins 20-14.
Pick: Jets
***
Ravens(8-5) at Giants(2-11)
The Baltimore offense will absolutely steamroll the sad sack Giants in MetLife Stadium. This one will be over quickly. Baltimore wins 24-7.
Pick: Ravens
***
Bengals(5-8) at Titans(3-10)
Joe Burrow and the Cincy receiving corps will attack the Tennessee defense in ways they haven’t dealt with this season. Cincinnati wins 27-10.
Pick: Bengals

Commanders(8-5) at Saints(5-8)
The most surprising thing that will occur on the field in this matchup will be the Saints defensive ability to slow down the Washington rushing attack. That will keep this game from going completely off the rails, but the Saints will never find themselves, well, in command of this game.
Jayden Daniels’ return to Louisiana will be a triumphant one for the probable Offensive Rookie of the Year and reigning Heisman Trophy winner. On the other side, as of this moment, the Saints have not yet revealed who will start at quarterback for the Black and Gold, either Jake Haener or Spencer Rattler. Either one will be overmatched in this one.
Regardless of who starts at quarterback for the Saints this week, the challenge is simply too great, and the competition too steep. Should the Saints quarterback try to test Marshon Lattimore in his Commanders debut, I think Lattimore will make them pay. Shon will deservedly receive love from the Saints faithful, but hopefully he doesn’t receive passes from the Saints quarterbacks. Many have thought for some time that this would be a loss, and that feeling has only solidified itself as time has gone on. Washington wins 23-16.
Pick: Commanders

Sunday, December 15th – Late Games
Patriots(3-10) at Cardinals(6-7)
James Connor and the Arizona rushing attack will own the day in the desert against the Pats. Arizona wins 24-10.
Pick: Cardinals
***
Colts(6-7) at Broncos(8-5)
The Denver defense will get back on track following their bye, with a solid performance against Indy. Denver wins 22-14.
Pick: Broncos
***
Bills(10-3) at Lions(12-1) – Game of the Week
Buffalo is good this season, very good in fact, but Detroit is simply better, and they will prove it in the end, in this potential Super Bowl preview. Detroit wins 31-28.
Pick: Lions
***
Buccaneers(7-6) at Chargers(8-5)
In their last-remaining challenging matchup of the season, Tampa’s defense falls short to Justin Herbert and the Bolts, but they still remain in the pole position for the NFC South crown. Los Angeles wins 28-21.
Pick: Chargers
***
Steelers(10-3) at Eagles(11-2)
Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown get back on the same page as the dangerous duo hook up for the game-winning touchdown in this interstate showdown of Super Bowl contenders. Philadelphia wins 32-26.
Pick: Eagles
***
Sunday Night Football
Packers(9-4) at Seahawks(8-5)
Green Bay’s defense will be at its best in putting the clamps on Geno Smith and the Seahawks passing attack in Seattle. Green Bay wins 20-14.
Pick: Packers
***
Monday, December 16th- Monday Night Football Doubleheader
Bears(4-9) at Vikings(11-2)
Predictably, the Minnesota passing attack will shine in this NFC North matchup. Minnesota wins 20-17.
Pick: Vikings
***
Falcons(6-7) at Raiders(2-11)
Atlanta will snap their losing streak here against Desmond Ridder and the Raiders, as the move back to the division lead, for now anyways. Atlanta wins 31-17.
Pick: Falcons
