Akers, a five-year NFL veteran, is coming off the 2024 campaign in which he spent time with the Minnesota Vikings—the 5’10”, 217lb. back averaged over 4.5 yards per carry over 12 appearances last season. While Akers has been plagued by injuries in his past, a healthy Cam is also an effective piece.

In the early portion of his career, Akers was a member of the Los Angeles RamsSuper Bowl-winning team in 2021 after being drafted the year prior. In an already crowded running back room that includes Alvin Kamara, Kendre Miller, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Devin Neal, among others, Cam will try to provide a jolt of leadership and competitive mentality to a Saints team that is trying to get back to double-digit victories since 2020.

What do you think about the Saints signing Cam Akers? How do you think he will fit in? Will anyone lose snaps or a roster spot to Akers? Let us know in the comments!
