The city of Newcastle turned into the heart of Hard Enduro action as Red Bull Tyne Ride returned to the banks of the River Tyne. In front of an energetic home crowd, Triumph Factory Racing’s Jonny Walker delivered a strong performance to secure second place at this unique SuperEnduro-style event.

A Knockout Battle on the River Tyne

The race format brought head-to-head duels, with riders facing off in best-of-three heats. Walker showed speed and determination from the start, defeating reigning FIM Hard Enduro World Champion Manuel Lettenbichler in the quarter-finals. In the semis, he took on American legend Cody Webb, where back-to-back wins earned him a ticket to the final.

A Home Crowd Final Showdown

The atmosphere reached its peak when Walker lined up against local favourite Billy Bolt. The two riders went bar-to-bar on a demanding track featuring man-made obstacles, logs, rocks, and big jumps. Despite Walker’s precision and control on the Triumph TF 250-E, Bolt managed to edge ahead, claiming two wins and the overall victory.

Walker Reflects on His Ride

“Red Bull Tyne Ride has been an amazing event. I ended up finishing second to Billy, which I’m really pleased with. The racing here has been fantastic with some really close battles on a challenging but super-fun track. The fans have been incredible, and I hope they enjoyed the show we put on this weekend. Even the weather stayed good,” Walker shared after the final.
