Justin Gaethje questions Ilia Topuria’s reaction to Josh Hokit at recent press conference
Justin Gaethje has given his thoughts on Ilia Topuria’s explosive reaction to Josh Hokit’s trash talk at the UFC Freedom 250 press conference.
As part of the UFC 328 festivities, we saw the first press conference take place for the upcoming UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House. In the main event, Ilia Topuria will defend his UFC lightweight championship against Justin Gaethje, with many believing that Ilia is the clear favorite to retain his belt after the exceptional run he’s been on as of late.
In the press conference, however, things got heated – but not between Topuria and Gaethje. Ilia took exception to Josh Hokit’s remarks towards Alex Pereira, and subsequently looked like he was going to try and attack the controversial American for some of the things he said to ‘Poatan’.
In a recent video, Justin Gaethje weighed in and gave his thoughts on Topuria’s decision.
Gaethje’s view on Topuria/Hokit incident
“It’s funny because he’s very emotional,” Gaethje said in a video on his YouTube channel. “That was good to see. He got emotional. Although I do get emotional defending my friends, as well. But you can’t let another man control you like that! Never.”
“July 4, 1776, we had to be at least 50-to-1 dogs,“ Gaethje said. ”So 5-to-1? I feel lucky being only 5-to-1. And we’ve been f*cking thriving since. So, I’m here to write the same story.”
