Former UFC welterweight title challenger Colby Covington went on another explicit rant against Ian Machado Garry after UFC 330.

UFC welterweight contender Ian Machado Garry suffered his second career defeat earlier this month at UFC 330. In his first career title shot, Garry lost to UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev by unanimous decision as his bid to become the division’s next titleholder fell short.

After watching Garry’s at times sluggish performance, UFC CEO Dana White and others were critical of Garry’s showing. White cited Garry’s perceived lack of a ‘killer instinct’ as a major factor in how the later rounds played out.

Despite suffering from the jaws of defeat, Garry is keeping his head up. But one of Garry’s recent detractors took his criticism personally.

In a recent interview with Submission Radio, former UFC star Colby Covington reacted to Garry’s showing at UFC 330.

“I didn’t really pay attention, but the one thing I found fitting that I did see is that now his wife got to sit in the corner and watch him get dogged out for once,” Covington said of Garry’s performance.

“The roles got reversed for once; the world got to see that he was exposed as a cuck. I just thought that it was very fitting that now instead of him sitting in the corner watching his wife with the nutritionist, he got to have his wife in the corner and watch him… It was great.” (h/t Bloody Elbow)

This is far from the first time Covington and Garry traded barbs. The two former UFC welterweight title challengers were repeatedly linked to fight rumors during their careers, specifically at UFC 303, but a grudge match never came to fruition.

Covington announced his retirement from Mixed Martial Arts earlier this year after multiple years away from the Octagon. While a Garry vs. Covington fight will likely never take place inside the cage, their bad blood doesn’t rule out a potential altercation outside of it.
