The 2025 Pennzoil 400 lived up to its hype yet again as Josh Berry fended off a hungry Daniel Suárez to secure his first-ever NASCAR Cup Series race victory in what was undeniably one of the most chaotic Sunday afternoons in NASCAR. Subsequently, Berry also handed Wood Brothers their first Cup race victory since Aug. 24, 2024.

2025 Pennzoil 400: Final Results of the NASCAR Cup Race in Las Vegas

Amid all the hype and pressure, Christopher Bell fell short of extending his win streak to a record-tying four, finishing a disappointing 12th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It all started with an intense duel between pole-sitter Michael McDowell and Joey Logano at the start of the race.

However, thanks to a handful of cautions, Austin Cindric sniffed an opportunity and eventually denied Logano a morale-boosting Stage 1 victory. A similar script followed in Stage 2, except it was Kyle Larson and William Byron battling it out for a victory. Byron looked set to claim his second stage win of the season, only for Larson to snatch it away with just over four laps to go.

Heading into the home stretch, Larson did control the race for a bit, but Suárez’s arrival to the scene spiced things up. The latter took the lead from Larson and Tyler Reddick after a prolonged caution period — caused by a multi-car wreck including Ryan Blaney — with just over 38 laps away from the finish line.

Meanwhile, Berry was silently making progress from seventh, overtaking the likes of Denny Hamlin, Ryan Preece, Noah Gragson, Logano, Reddick, and McDowell before taking on the race leader. With just 34 laps to go, Berry made an insane move on Suárez amid a strong side draft and went on to see the checkered flag in first place.

  • Stage 1 winner: Austin Cindric
  • Stage 2 winner: Kyle Larson
