NFL announces no Supplemental Draft will be held this year
Since 2019, the NFL has not had a player drafted in the league’s Supplemental Draft, and in league history, a total of 46 players have been selected by this draft. In recent years, the league has canceled the event multiple times, and now, according to Dane Brugler, the Supplemental Draft has been officially canceled this year.

With the lack of players drafted through this avenue, this is not a surprising move, and it may be one more step closer to the Supplemental Draft being canceled as a whole. Still, with this news coming out, it is always fun to look at some of the notable players selected in the Supplemental Draft.
- WR Chris Carter
- QB Bernie Kosar
- WR Josh Gordon
- QB/WR Terrelle Pryor
- DT Jamal Williams
The New Orleans Saints last used the Supplemental Draft way back in 1981, selecting quarterback Dave Wilson, under new head coach Bum Phillips. Wilson played for the Saints from 1981 to 1989.
