SB Nation Reacts Results: Who should be named the Saints starting QB for Week 1?

We are getting closer and closer to the start of the 2025 regular season as the New Orleans Saints are about to play their final preseason game at home tomorrow against the Denver Broncos, and the quarterback competition is quickly approaching the finish line. So, in this week’s reacts poll we asked our readers who they thought should be named the Saints starting QB for Week 1?

An overwhelming 68% of voters said it should be 2nd year quarterback Spencer Rattler under center Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals.

It was announced on Thursday that Rattler would be starting tomorrow’s game, he also started the first preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers with Tyler Shough starting in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. While head coach Kellen Moore has said the competition is still really close between the two, judging from the results of this week’s poll, it’s clear that some fans have made their decision on who they would like to be QB1.

We will soon see how this battle wraps up as the NFL roster cut deadline is Tuesday at 3 p.m. CT and we should expect the Saints name their starter soon after the game and early next week as well.
