No Turnovers, No Glory: Rattler’s Fantasy Week 1 Performance

No Turnovers, No Glory: Rattler’s Fantasy Week 1 Performance

Now that the dust has settled from game one of the 2025 NFL season, the analysis comes down to Spencer Rattlers fantasy performance. In his first game under new coach Kellen Moore’s scheme, second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler’s performance on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals was a mixed bag in the team’s 20-13 loss. While the absence of a turnover was a notable silver lining, the rest of his Week 1 performance was not bad but not good from a fantasy football standpoint. Rattler completed 27 of a career-high 46 passes for 214 yards, a high volume of attempts given the game’s tight score. He also contributed on the ground, adding 29 rushing yards on four carries. Despite the high usage, the offense struggled a bit to find its rhythm, and Rattler’s passing efficiency was limited. But that was kind of expected. We are dealing with a Saints team of fresh faces building their mojo. Expect to see Moore and Rattler working to improve the overall offensive output in the weeks to come. The No-Huddle offense seems to be a working component if the Saints can master the formalities.

Fantasy Football Outlook

From a fantasy football perspective, Rattler’s Week 1 performance wasn’t that great but it wasn’t bad neither from a second year QB. He played better than expected. With his final stat line—214 passing yards and 29 rushing yards with no touchdowns—yielded a low point total that places him well outside the top-20 quarterbacks for the week. While the high volume of pass attempts (46) provides a decent floor for future games, his low yards-per-attempt and lack of scoring plays definitely need to improve in the following week 2 game. Unless he can establish a better connection with his receivers and convert more drives into touchdowns, Rattler will be at the lower end of the quarterback list of accumulated points. Considering this is first “official” start, it’s somewhat expected that this is his second year.
