If Saints win/lose vs. Bills

If Saints win/lose vs. Bills

The New Orleans Saints remain in search of their first win of the season as they travel to Buffalo to face the Bills on Sunday. Let’s take a look at what either outcome would mean for the Saints.

If the Saints win

A win for the black and gold on Sunday would mean the largest upset – leaguewide – of the season so far.

Beating a superstar quarterback in Josh Allen and his Super Bowl-hopeful Bills squad, on the road, on the back of a blowout loss in Week 3, to record your first win of 2025 would be the story of the week in the NFL.

For it to happen, the defense will have to pressure Allen and force turnovers, quarterback Spencer Rattler will have to play exceptionally well and execute on third down, and the team as a whole will have to avoid simple mistakes and bad penalties.

Should head coach Kellen Moore achieve his first win as Saints head coach on Sunday, he’d struggle to find a better one throughout the rest of the campaign.

If the Saints lose

A loss on Sunday is frankly to be expected. While no one wants to hear that, if the Saints leave Buffalo 0-4, there won’t be many among Who Dat Nation feeling necessarily surprised.

The Bills are as tough an opponent as the black and gold will face all season. If they’re able to remain within touching distance – or more pointedly avoid the sort of miserable first half endured in Seattle – there’s something to that.

If the Saints are able to correct course from a week ago and lose in a more respectable fashion as they did in the opening two weeks of the season, a loss here won’t mean too much at all. If anything, it might leave some silver linings to take away.
