Drew Brees elected to the 2026 Class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame

As expected, former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is headed to Canton. During tonight’s NFL Honors, Brees was officially announced as one of the newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

This was the first year of Brees’ eligibility but there was little doubt that he would be selected given his outstanding accomplishments on the field.

During his 20-year NFL career with the Chargers and Saints, Brees was named to the Pro Bowl 13x, All-Pro 4x and NFL Offensive Player of the Year 2x.

The 2006 Walter Payton Man of the Year also set numerous NFL records, including highest completion percentage in a season (74.4%), most career 5,000 yards seasons (5), most passing touchdowns in a game (7, tied) and most consecutive games with a touchdown pass (54), breaking a record that was held by Johnny Unitas for 52 years.

Brees is currently second all-time in career passing yards, career touchdown passes, and career pass completions, and third in career completion percentage.

During his 15 years in New Orleans, Brees led the Saints to 7 NFC South division titles and most notably, to victory in Super Bowl XLIV over Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts where he was named the game’s MVP.

Since retiring in 2021, Brees has remained active in the New Orleans community, opening several businesses and attending numerous Saints games. In October 2024, Brees was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame.

He most recently joined FOX Sports as an NFL game analyst in November 2025.

The 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremony will be held later this year in August where Brees will join fellow NFL legends enshrined forever in Canton, Ohio.
