Finally home again, Red Wings celebrate epic Olympics with tribute

The Detroit Red Wings spread the love as they celebrated their own Olympians in their first home game since the 2026 Winter Games.

Dylan Larkin drew the biggest cheers on Wednesday, March 4, during a video tribute shown during the first TV timeout of the game against the Vegas Golden Knights at Little Caesars Arena. The first player shown was Megan Keller, the Farmington Hills, Michigan, native who scored the overtime goal for the USA women’s team in the gold medal game against Canada.

Then came Moritz Seider (Germany) and Lucas Raymond (Sweden). Larkin, whose USA team won gold in overtime over Canada, naturally received the most attention.

THE OTHER TRIBUTE: Patrick Kane honored by Red Wings for breaking Modano’s U.S. points record

Larkin raised his arm in salute from the bench when he was shown on the Jumbotron. He had two goals and an assist and was a key part of his American squad going 18-for-18 on penalty kills in the six games it took to win gold.

But the Wings didn’t stop there. There was also a shoutout to Golden Knights Jack Eichel and Noah Hanifin, part of the USA team, as well as a call-out to Zach Werenski (Gross Pointe Woods), Jack and Quinn Hughes (Canton), Kyle Connor (Shelby Township) and Connor Hellebuyck (Commerce Township).
