Dzhabir Dzhabrailov calls for Christian Lee title shot following ONE Fight Night 42 win

Dzhabir Dzhabrailov calls for Christian Lee title shot following ONE Fight Night 42 win

Dzhabir Dzhabrailov is 7-0, and every single win has come by finish inside the first round. The 21-year-old Team Amir fighter made it five consecutive first-round stoppages at ONE Fight Night 42 on April 10, dropping Chase “Mannimal” Mann with a thunderous left hook and finishing him with hammerfists at 2:31 of round one at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

It was not a clean performance from start to finish. Mann used his powerlifting-built strength to drag the fight toward the ground early, landed a short right hand that sent Dzhabrailov crashing down, and looked briefly in control. The Turkish fighter knew it was coming.

He had prepared for exactly that scenario — tight defence, patience, single strikes to establish range, then a sequence when the moment presented itself. When Mann got comfortable with the rhythm of single shots, Dzhabrailov changed the pattern. A big right hand missed, but the follow-up left hook landed clean on the chin. Two hammerfists ended it.

“Yes, everything went exactly as we planned. We expected him to try and wrestle, and move to the ground, but we didn’t let him do it. We expected him to be tired, and this is exactly what happened,” Dzhabrailov said.

“I really know myself, and I know what I am capable of. So, in the beginning, yes, he was showing that he was a bit stronger. But I generally know that I’m unbreakable.”

Dzhabir Dzhabrailov sets sights on Christian Lee and the ONE Welterweight MMA World Title

Dzhabir Dzhabrailov is not spending long celebrating. He acknowledged Mann’s character with genuine respect after the fight, graded his own performance at seven out of ten, and identified mistakes on film he intends to fix.

The next target is already clear — ONE Welterweight and Lightweight MMA World Champion Christian Lee. Dzhabrailov knows he may need one more fight first, but the direction is set.

“I think I’m ready, but I’m still young, so I think a couple more fights, and after that, maybe I can try,” Dzhabir Dzhabrailov said.

“Christian Lee, hold your belt tightly. We’re coming for it.”
