Eagles 2026 schedule begins with a home game

The Philadelphia Eagles will begin their 2026 schedule at Lincoln Financial Field with a Week 1 home game against the Washington Commanders, according to a report from @OzzyNFL. Kickoff is said to be set for 4:25 PM Eastern.
This marks just the second time since the Nick Sirianni era began in 2021 that the Birds will be starting the season in their own stadium. A quick recap:

2023 — at New England Patriots (win)
2024 — vs. Green Bay Packers in Brazil (win)
2025 — vs. Dallas Cowboys (win)
The last time the Eagles lost a Week 1 game was when a Carson Wentz-led squad blew a lead to Ron Rivera’s Washington Football Team to open the 2020 campaign. It was a bad start to what was ultimately a very bad and franchise-altering season.
The Eagles will be looking to get off to a good start in 2026 with a win over an NFC East rival. The NFL scheduling the Commanders so early helps to ensure that Jayden Daniels will be playing in this game after he missed Philly twice last year. Washington figures to be hungry to bounce back from last year’s struggles. Eagles fans who are also Sixers fans should be hungry to see the Birds crush Washington owner Josh Harris, who has been a bad basketball owner and should sell the team to someone who actually cares about the 76ers.
The Eagles and Commanders will meet again in Landover, Maryland for a Week 8 matchup on Sunday Night Football.
