Paulo Costa threatens ‘bum’ Josh Hokit over UFC 327 post-fight bonus snub

Paulo Costa threatens ‘bum’ Josh Hokit over UFC 327 post-fight bonus snub

Former UFC title challenger Paulo Costa slammed UFC 327 star Josh Hokit with a fiery statement over post-fight bonuses.

Former UFC middleweight title challenger Paulo Costa’s full-time move to the light heavyweight division couldn’t have started much better at UFC 327 last Saturday in Miami.

Costa, who elected to make the full-time light heavyweight switch following recent losses to Robert Whittaker and Sean Strickland, knocked out the previously unbeaten Azamat Murzakanov with a brutal head kick at UFC 327. It was an impressive performance from Costa, who surged into the light heavyweight title conversation with his emphatic showing against Murzakanov.

Costa has his sights set on some of the top light heavyweight contenders after UFC 327, following a win in which UFC CEO Dana White labeled the biggest victory of his career. Despite his highlight-reel head kick knockout, Costa was snubbed of a lucrative post-fight performance bonus, as heavyweight Josh Hokit took home ‘Fight of the Night’ honors with a $50k bonus.

Hokit’s fight with Curtis Blaydes was arguably one of the craziest heavyweight bouts in recent UFC history. After UFC 327, Costa gave Hokit a taste of his own verbal medicine following his post-fight performance snub.

Paulo Costa goes off on Josh Hokit’s post-fight performance bonus at UFC 327

In a recent post to X, Costa aimed at Hokit over the UFC 327 performance bonuses.

“Hey Josh Hokit you got my BONUS m**********,” Costa tweeted Monday.

“I’m gonna f*** you up next time ur a f****** bum.”

Things between Costa and Hokit seemed cordial during UFC 327 fight week as Hokit elected to stir the pot with Jiri Prochazka, Blaydes, and others in the lead-up to fight night. The former Dana White’s Contender Series standout will likely get a title eliminator bout for his next showing inside the Octagon.

As for Costa, he’s fired up after UFC 327, although he did receive a $25,000 finish bonus for his win over Murzakanov. The UFC matchmakers might need to think twice before booking Costa and Hokit for future cards together.
