Patrick Lange Blasts Through One Last Year Before Retirement: ‘One More Time Kona, One More Time Roth’
Time is starting to run out a bit for Patrick Lange; the German former – and three-time – Ironman World Champion is considered one of the most successful triathletes of his generation, but even he cannot defy the laws of time. However, Lange will not be retiring just yet this coming year, as he wants to give it his all at least one more time in Kona, and he aims to do the exact same at least one more time at Challenge Roth.
The circle is almost complete, but not quite yet,” Lange said regarding the inevitable end of his career as a professional athlete
Throughout his career, Lange won the Ironman World Championship in Kona an impressive three times, alongside iconic races like Challenge Roth and countless other competitions.
“Now, there is one more year to race. One more season to give everything I have. One time Kona. One time Roth. My career has taken me to the highest highs and the lowest lows. Every victory, every setback, every lesson: they have shaped who I am. And when I do call it quits, I don’t want it to be a farewell full of sadness. I want it to be a celebration of everything this journey has been. So, let’s enjoy this final year together.”
Lange already has his slot for the Ironman World Championship secured, where he will compete for the final time this October. Challenge Roth will then be on his schedule for July 2027.
